| Following the trend towards smaller cars, 1981 rules mandated a smaller 110 inch wheelbase for the NASCAR Winston (now Sprint) Cup Series and Buick emerged as the car to beat. Darrell Waltrip drove the iconic, green and white stock car to back to back cup championships in 1981 & 1982 - the first two of three championships in his famed career. In 1981 and 1982 alone, Waltrip had 61 starts and earned 24 wins, 29 top five finishes and more than $1.6 million in winnings. This car is a tribute reproduction of Darrell Waltrip's #11 Mountain Dew Buick Records indicate this car is #5 of 5 reproduced in 2007 by Muddy Creek Motorsports, located in Winston-Salem, NC. During the summer of 2007, Mountain Dew conducted a contest in St. Louis, Missouri where 11 grand prize winners were then eligible to win the Buick before the start of the Nextel Cup Race at Homestead, Florida on November 18, 2007. Winners names were randomly drawn to determine the order they would draw an ignition key to hopefully start the Buick Regal. The winner of the car was the person with the key that started the car. The winner of this beautiful reproduced Regal, lived in Sunset Hills, Missouri where it was delivered and garaged till Don & Jackie purchased it in 2010.
