Hey guys and gals..Meet Mr. Joe Meeka and his 1955 Chevrolet sedan. This car is a beauty and carries a special tribute, which I'll get to later. The paint is a "House of Color" custom purple metal flake with pearl white, painted by Dennis McGaugh.. Joe's race car, which is streetable and has had a "body off chassis restoration by Hago, houses a 350 Chevy engine with 40 over (351 ci) including a steel crank, Pink rods, Dart Sportsman heads, Comp hydraulic cam, 750 cfm holley HP carburetor sitting on a Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake. Of course, Joe built a custom air cleaner for this setup. Engine is finished off with some Hooker Super Comp headers and lot's of chrome..A 350 turbo transmission, with a 3500 A-1 stall converter, transfers the power with a B&M Star shifter. A 9" Ford rear end housing some 3:73 gears was added with a Detroit locker plus some Strange S/S axles for the finishing touch. Cal Trac traction bars and some Bilstein shocks all around the car, 4 wheel disc brakes were added on all corners for stopping power and Joe is ready to have some fun, fun, fun. Let's not forget the custom interior which is done by "Jeff's" Joe has a tribute displayed to Mr. Dave Wise who passed away a few years ago. Dave was the owner of Wise Speed Shop in St. Louis, Missouri Very nice touch to a good friend..Dave would be proud. Joe can be seen at many of the shows. Be sure to take a look at this beauty and tell Joe that you seen his car at www.johnskinker.com Click on pictures to enlarge |
