BBQ at Joe's House
May 13, 2007

Well, here goes the story..I'll try to make it short but for those of you that know
me, this might be a problem.. A friend of mine asked me to join his family for a
BBQ at his ole friends house..This friend is a high school buddy of his by the
name of Joe.. We took our hot rods and met in Illinois just across the IL/MO
border.  Not too sure exactly where we were going but on some nice old back
roads with beautiful scenery..When we turned off the main highway onto the
driveway, we drove about 2 blocks down to the house with corn fields on both
sides..Then this 100 plus year old home, in beautiful shape, appears..We were
introduced to Joe and his family and WHOW..could you smell the BBQ..Then
came the big surprise..Behind this house was a beautiful landscaped large yard
overlooking this pond..then there was a filling station/grocery store/tackle shop.
This hobby is what Joe has been working and collecting on for over 35
years..He has torn down old barns for the wood to build this unbelievable
building..The inside of this building is totally furnished as it would have been in
the ole days...including a tin roof and a pot belly stove.  Joe explained that his
plans are to someday make this a place for motorcycle and hot rod clubs to use
as a photo shoot..He is still in the planning stages, but for the clubs I've
mentioned this to, ALL were in favor of doing a afternoon shoot with food and
drinks available.  At this time, Joe asked not to publish the exact information or
location yet for security reasons and I do understand.  I can tell you that you will
be able to have some of the best bbq in those parts of the state.. For those of
you that are interested, let me know and I'll put you on the list to be notified for
when Joe is open for business..
